Dr. Cat Norris

AHPRA Registered Osteopath

Cat is a Master’s graduate of Victoria University and fully registered Osteopath, and has the privilege of doing what she loves every day. Osteopathy is for the whole community, from children to elderly, competitive athletes to a labourer and everything in between.

Her Osteopathic philosophy encompasses treating the cause of the patient’s problem. This includes taking a detailed history and assessment of a patient and tailoring an individualised treatment and management plan to best suit their needs. Any rehabilitation advice and exercises she recommends will consider important aspects of a patient’s life, including sport, work and sleep, to identify what is triggering the symptoms and to prevent them from reoccurring. She has conducted further study in Dry Needling, Myofascial Cupping, and Ergonomics Risk Assessment and incorporates these modalities in to pioneering the most appropriate treatment and management plan for her patients to get them moving and enjoying life. She has the experience of working in private practice, as a sports trainer, and treating overseas in London.

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a holistic form of healthcare based on the philosophy that there is an important link between the structures of the body and the way it functions. Everything is interconnected; the skeletal system, muscles, nerves, circulation, connective tissue and organs. Osteopaths recognise this connection and focus on this holistic unit during your treatment to treat the whole body to improve your overall health and well-being.

What to expect during a treatment

The consultation begins with taking a detailed case history to identify the problem, which is then backed up by a thorough physical assessment and examination. Catherine has completed an extensive 5-years training and can implement respiratory, nervous system, cardiovascular and musculoskeletal system examination.

A tailored treatment and management plan will then be devised based on the Osteopaths finding and the needs of the patient, which can include:

  • Gentle mobilising, articulating and/or joint manipulation techniques to improve the functional range of movement

  • Stretching and hands-on deep-tissue massage

  • Dry Needling to promote health in muscles and tendons

  • Lifestyle changes and advice (ergonomics, sleep, postural changes)

  • Exercise advice and rehabilitation program

Throughout the treatment process we will educate you about what is causing your pain, provide you with lifestyle and exercise advice, so you walk away feeling empowered, excited and engaged in your management plan. We will be with you every step of the way.’

  • For new patients we allow 45-60 minutes. Subsequent consultations are 30 minutes or 60 minutes by request.

  • At HHO we have the HICAPS facility onsite, so people with private health insurance extras are able to claim on the spot and only pay for the remaining gap.

    • Initial consultation - $125 (45-60 mins)

    • Return consultation - $102 (30 mins), $125 (45 mins), $178 (60 mins)

  • Anyone and everyone is welcome! We accept all walks of life.

We also cater for the Department of Veterans Affairs, WorkSafe and TAC patients.

*Please Note: WorkSafe and TAC patients will be required to provide evidence that liability has been accepted by either their employer, insurer or TAC before treatment commences.
